Research suggests that the quality of the relationship with your therapist is a key element in contributing to a helpful and positive therapeutic experience. We know how hard it can be to work out what approach and which therapist would be helpful.
Our aim is to help you find a therapist who is a good fit, both for you and your problems, as this will significantly improve your opportunities for growth and development.
The assessment process
We start with a 50-minute initial consultation, by video call, with one of our Clinical Management Team who specialise in initial assessments. The aim of this consultation is to understand you and the difficulties that are causing you to seek help, and place these in the context of your past experiences and relationships.
The initial consultation may involve just the person seeking help for themselves; or a couple; or if the concern is about a child or teenager, may involve just the parent/s, or a child and parents.
We will then discuss with you the options for therapy that we think might be appropriate. We then try to find a therapist we hope would suit you, and write a summary account for them. This is a thoughtful process and the intention is for it to be a therapeutic experience in and of itself.
During the assessment we would also like to hear from you about your previous experiences of therapy and we will follow your lead if you have any preference or inclination for a specific type of therapy or therapist.
Booking your assessment
If you would like to book an assessment, please fill out the booking form and select a time that suits you from the booking section.
If you are uncertain about whether we are the appropriate agency to help you, or about who should attend the consultation, email us your query, or request a call back from one of the assessors. We will usually get back to you within 24 hours. We ask for an upfront payment for a booked consultation. This can be returned if you cancel within 48 hours of the appointment.
